CHIME Zine No. 3

Amplifying voices from around the world who are leading in the fight for gender equality

During the occasion of Women’s History Month, CHIME FOR CHANGE debuts the fourth issue of the CHIME Zine, its ongoing publication dedicated to amplifying the voices of activists and artists around the world who are fighting for gender equality.

Once again edited by organizer and author Adam Eli and art directed by visual artist MP5, the latest issue focuses on women-led movements around the world and features contributions that highlight grassroots organizing and movement-building, including the Women’s Strike in Poland, #EndSARS in Nigeria, the fight against femicide in Turkey, the young feminist resistance movement in Egypt, and the feminist art and comic scene in Italy.

“Change is not granted on a carefully laid out timetable. Change happens when marginalized people demand it.”

CHIME Zine Editor Adam Eli

Contributions in this new issue include essays, interviews and artwork highlighting various topics related to gender equality, including:

  • Ola Jasionowska on the importance of visual symbols in social movements
  • Karolina Gembara on the uprising in Poland
  • Günseli Yalcinkaya and Melek Önder on the epidemic of femicide in Turkey, and the We Will Stop Femicide Platform
