Summary: To further support Gucci’s longstanding partnership with UNICEF, in 2019, Gucci employees ran the New York City Marathon to raise funds and awareness for #BeyGood4Burundi, a global initiative to bring safe water and sanitation to Burundi, where nearly half the population has no access to clean, safe water. #BeyGood4Burundi was launched in 2017 by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who Co-Founded Gucci’s CHIME FOR CHANGE campaign for gender equality, and UNICEF. The Gucci team ran 42.2 km (26.2 miles) through New York City and raised more than $75,000 USD to support the initiative, in addition to Gucci’s $1 million USD donation as a founding partner of #BeyGood4Burundi, which funded the building of more than 85 wells and clean water solutions to provide nearly 500,000 people in Burundi with access to safe water.
