PROMOTING POSITIVE IMPACT FOR THE FASHION & CREATIVE INDUSTRIES IN LONDON

WHAT IS CHANGEMAKERS LONDON?

Launched in 2023, Changemakers London is the first European extension of Gucci’s groundbreaking ‘Changemakers’ initiative. The programme includes a Scholarship Programme with London College of Fashion (LCF), University of the Arts London (UAL) and Grants for three changemaking London grassroots organisations with the intention of opening up the creative industries to young adults from marginalised communities.

The programme’s ultimate aim is to create positive impact in the capital’s fashion and creative industries

GRANTS

Multi-year grants have been given to London-based organizations, in line with Gucci’s commitment to generating positive change for people and the planet. The grassroots organizations are: Rise 365, Art Against Knives and The Advocacy Academy which all use the power of imagination and creativity to help young Londoners envisage a different future for themselves.

THE ADVOCACY ACADEMY

The Advocacy Academy are youth organisers working to create a more fair, just, and equal society, by building the collective power of young people to bring about change. They equip young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to become active agents for change in their community.

CHANGEMAKERS LONDON SCHOLARSHIP

Our Changemakers London Scholarship Programme offers 9 students over the course of 3 years a full scholarship (including tuition fees, accommodation and living costs) to study at London College of Fashion, UAL. Changemakers London has the aim of making the industry itself more inclusive, so we have targeted a selection of BA courses that are associated with the business of fashion and fashion media. This way Gucci will be able to practically offer opportunities to scholars in London itself. Our inaugural scholars in 2023 are Alicia Grilli (BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Merchandising); Joy Buckley (BA (Hons) Fashion Public Relations and Communication); and Anissa-Louisa Kerbouche (BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism and Content Creation).
